Trail Bridge Sub Sector Programme (TBSSP), Dolakha District

Objectives:
  • To ensure the easy access of transportation to local people through the construction of trail bridges and generation of Local employment during construction of trail bridges.
Key Activities:
  • ommunity mobilization and facilitation in bridges construction.
  • Activate the user committees.
  • Facilitate for public hearing, public review and public audit.
  • Assist for social inclusion, transparency and livelihood building.
  • Over all construction supervision work during construction and erection of the bridge.
  • Oriented community on the Trail Bridge Program and Approaches; fill-out community application from.
  • Facilitate Detail Survey, Design, Estimation of Trail Bridge and Still Truss Bridge.
  • Mobilize UCs members for the implementation of bridge building activities.
  • To supervise and monitor the construction of suspended bridge.
  • Providing technical and social organizational support to the community in the construction of suspended bridges.
Expected Results:
Nepali citizens use trail bridges to have safe and equitable access to basic services and employment opportunities.
Government at all levels (federal, province, palikas) implement Trail Bridge Strategy to construct and maintain trail bridges equitably.
Private sector engages in effective delivery of good quality trail bridges.

Major Achievements:

Date Title
From 1st September, 2018 to till Date Construction of 40 suspended bridges completed.
60,891 population of 11,833 households have directly benefited from the completion of Trail Bridge, including 29,907 males and 30,984 females.

  • Budget NGO service charge 6 percent of total cost per bridge construction

  • Target groups Local people who have to travel for more than an hour to cross the river and have difficulty moving to markets, basic services (health, schools, administrative service centers, etc.) social and cultural centers due to the river.
