Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum) believes that meaningful and lasting development requires collaboration, shared responsibility, local leadership, and strong partnerships. Since its establishment in 2004, Civic Forum has worked with communities, local governments, government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote community-led and sustainable development.
In a rapidly changing context, communities and institutions are facing new and interconnected challenges, including rapid digital transformation, misinformation and emerging communication challenges, climate change, increasing disaster risks, economic and social inequalities, migration, and evolving social needs. These challenges require approaches that go beyond conventional service delivery and place greater emphasis on evidence-based policy dialogue, social innovation, local knowledge, community leadership, social accountability, and long-term systems strengthening.
Civic Forum therefore seeks partnerships that enable communities and institutions to move from short-term interventions towards sustainable solutions, local ownership, stronger systems, and lasting social change.

Four Priorities for Sustainable Partnership
- Sustainability
Projects and programmes should not end when project funding ends. We seek approaches that strengthen local capacity, ownership, institutions, knowledge, and systems so that results can be sustained beyond the project period.
- Social Accountability
Organizations and institutions that mobilize public or development resources have a responsibility to remain accountable to communities, government, partners, and donors. Civic Forum promotes participation, transparency, feedback, community engagement, and accountable development practices.
- Systems Strengthening
Rather than creating parallel structures, partnerships should contribute to strengthening local governments, community institutions, service systems, and other existing structures. Our aim is to help build systems that can continue delivering results over the long term.
- Social Innovation
