The project successfully prepared Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 12 drinking water supply schemes in Mahabharat Rural Municipality, Kavrepalanchok District, providing a strong technical foundation for the future development and expansion of safe and reliable drinking water services across the municipality. |
| |
The DPRs were prepared through detailed field surveys, technical investigations, engineering design, cost estimation, and close consultation with the Rural Municipality, Ward Offices, and local communities. Each DPR included water source investigations, hydraulic design, transmission and distribution network design, reservoir and intake structures, technical drawings, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and implementation plans. |
| |
The 12 completed DPRs covered the Eka Dingge Khola, Mul Khola, Sanopokhara, Budhakhani Gothdanda, Charkilla, Chaudik, Bhal Khop, Kabra Kholsi, Magargaun Banakhu Salleni, Chaukhola, Alloghari Bedgaira Baseri, and Barbare Water Supply Schemes, located across Wards 2 to 7 of Mahabharat Rural Municipality. |
| |
Collectively, the proposed water supply schemes were designed to serve 1,415 households and 38 public institutions, including schools, health facilities, and other community infrastructure, thereby improving access to safe and reliable drinking water for local communities. The combined estimated implementation cost of the 12 schemes was approximately NRs. 204.90 million (NRs. 20.49 crore). |
| |
The project provided Mahabharat Rural Municipality with comprehensive and technically sound DPRs, enabling the municipality to prioritize investments, mobilize financial resources, and implement sustainable drinking water supply projects in accordance with national engineering standards and local development priorities. |
