Nepal Earthquake Response Program, 2015

Objectives:
  • To provide emergency relief support for earthquake affected household's family in the Kavre district.
Key Activities:
  • Undertake district and VDCs assessment and send the assessment report to Caritas Nepal.
  • Distribute relief materials to selected earthquake affected VDCs and help Caritas Nepal distribute WASH and Food materials in additional VDCs.
  • Undertake necessary coordination with the district government-CDO and DDC, District Disaster Relief Committee (DDRC) etc.
  • Prepare suggestion for future rehabilitation activities to Caritas Nepal.
  • Facilitation for VDC level VDC secretary, Ward Citizen Forum (WCF), Political party representative and others stakeholders jointly meetings.
  • Assist for Caritas Nepal (CN) and Caritas International Members Organization (CIMOs) joint monitoring at program support VDCs.
  • Participate for district level DDRC and cluster coordination meeting and presentation the relief support progress.
  • Take lead role in district for mobilization of the relief distribution need volunteers.
  • Provide financial and narrative report to Caritas Nepal.

Major Achievements:

Date Title
Survey of Earthquake affected 14 VDCs including 9200 households for data collection.
Emergency relief distribution to 10 VDCs in hard to reach areas of Dandapari with Tarpaulin 5843 (Pcs), Blanket 5843 (Pcs) and CGI sheet 500 (Bundles).
Support of Tarpaulin 78 (Pcs), Plastic sheet 78 (Pcs), Nylon rope 1380 (Meter), Family Tent 6 (Pcs), CGI sheet 91 (Bundles) and Tools 11 (Sets) to schools.
Assisted Caritas Nepal in emergency relief materials support at four core VDCs with Tarpaulin 3357 (Pcs), Blanket 6714 (Pcs), Plastic sheet 3357 (Pcs), WASH Kit 3287 (Bucket), CGI sheet 5765 (Bundles) and Tools 661 ((Sets).
The total beneficiaries from the relief distribution were 10607 female, 11277 male and 17212 children.
