Biomass Energy Support Program (BESP)

Objectives:
  • To install the energy based technology i.e. Improved cooking stoves especially for the poor, women, dalits and disadvantaged households.
Key Activities:
  • Baseline cum need assessment in VDCs.
  • Conduction of public hearing.
  • Organize and conduct new and refresher promoter's training.
  • Conduction of Promoter's Ilaka level monthly meetings.
  • Carry out Technical tests (CCT) of the installed Improved Cooking Stove (ICS).
  • Installation of wall painting/hoarding board.
  • Orientation cum demonstration of metallic stoves.

Major Achievements:

6 VDCs baseline cum need assessment through which 1673 HHs ICS demand collected.
Public hearing program through 18 local promoter's selection.
Organized and conducted 2 events of 6 days promoter's training.
Conducted 12 (twelve) Promoter's Ilaka level monthly and 4 (four) quarterly meetings.
Carried out Technical tests (CCT) of the 4 (four) installed ICS.
Established 8 promoter's hoarding board.
Conducted ICS VDC level orientation cum demonstration program through awareness to 640 female and 490 male.
Improved Cooking Stove (ICS) installed for 21 Dalit HHs, 36 Marginalized Janajati HHs, 1143 Janajati HHs and 150 Other HHs with a sum of 1350 households.
5332 Female and 4523 Male are direct beneficiaries from 1350 HHs ICS installation.
