Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum), one of the leading member-based non-governmental organization (NGO) at Kavrepalanchok district is implementing the project “Foundations for the Future (FFTF)” in the schools of Chaunrideurali Rural Municipality, Kavrepalanchok with the technical and financial support from WaterAid Nepal (WAN) from 1st July, 2022 to 30th June, 2024. Civic Forum intends to recruit qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the following position:

Position: Community Mobilizer (CM)

Qualification and Experiences Requirement: 10+2 (intermediate) level in health or social science or development related subject from recognized institution with at least 2 years of overall experience working with NGO in Community Mobilizer positions and has ability to conduct training in the sector of Children, school disaster preparedness and WASH project.

Immediate Supervisor: Project Coordinator (PC)

Job Summary: 

Under the overall guidance of the Executive Director, the WASH shall shoulder the overall responsibility for Constructions. The Community Mobilizers carries out tasks in accordance with the system and policies of Civic Forum organization and WaterAid Nepal. S/he shall follow the guidance of Project Coordinator and closely works with project team to fulfill the responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates commitment to the Civic Forum core values.
  • Displays cultural, gender, religious, ethnicity and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Work prioritization, the ability of multitasking and willingness to go the extra mile to accomplish what the job demands is a must.
  • He/she will be responsible for implementing the activities in the field team to ensure all project activities are according to project timeline.

A. Key Role and Responsibilities: 

The major task of Community Mobilizers is to implement the project activities in targeted locations of the project. Other duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Take the major responsibility of the field level activities of the project considering government or project guidelines, norms and criteria.
  • Take responsibility in managing and conducting different trainings to SMC, PTA, teachers, child club, rural municipality representatives, etc. as per the project plan.
  • Assist in conduction of WASH trainings in coordination with Rural Municipality.
  • Assist Project Coordinator for preparing event wise, monthly and quarterly action plan.
  • Assist trainer/resource person/facilitator for conducting planned activities or training.
  • Assist engineer, other technical staffs and workers for the construction work in schools and ensure their quality.
  • Advocate local government, stakeholders for sustainability of the project activities.
  • Responsible to arrange meetings, orientation, discussion with Rural Municipalities, school representatives or other concerned parties in the field.
  • Raising awareness (especially in and around Schools) on importance of WASH in schools, community among stakeholders and beneficiaries of the project.
  • Assist for the transportation of goods and materials up to the required location.
  • Maintain coordination and collaboration with the like-minded organizations working in the same area of intervention.
  • Coordinate with the like-minded organizations and ensure that the project activities are not duplicated and informed standard are maintained.
  • Implementation and follow up of project activities.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders in local level. i.e. Rural Municipality/Ward Offices, RM-WASHCC, W-WASHCC, education section of RM, local NGOs and other stakeholders.
  • Assist Project Coordinator in organizing, mobilizing, and awareness creating and motivating concerned parties for implementing project activities.
  • Assist MEAL officer for documentation of the lessons learnt and best practice of the project and presents it in the meetings.
  • Prepare and submit the weekly, monthly, event wise and final reports to the Civic Forum through Project Coordinator.

Duration: 6 months starting from August, 2023 to January 2024

Salary and other benefits: Salary and other benefits will be provided according to the project and organization norms.
