Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum), one of the leading member based non-governmental organization (NGO) at Kavrepalanchok district is implementing the project “Recovery and reconstruction of community water supply schemes and household latrines in Kavre District Province No. 3” in partnership with UNICEF Nepal. Civic Forum invites application from qualified and experienced candidates for the following position:

WASH Sub-Engineer/Overseer

Diploma in civil Engineering from recognized institution/University

 

  • Minimum 1 year professional working experience in Community WASH.
  • Proven technical and supervision of water supply and school WASH facilities construction, implementation of Water Safety Plan, able to understand the design and BoQ and quality control of construction work.
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing both in English and Nepali language.
  • Knowledge of computer skills, Auto CAD, Drawing, Running bill and of report.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated to work in the sector of sustainable water supply, sanitation and cleanliness promotion with excellent interpersonal skills.

Sub-overseer/Technician/ASE

Sub-overseer course from recognized CTEVT institution (Civil engineering)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with completed TSLC in construction of water and sanitation infrastructure and to fix rural WASH infrastructures (intake, reservoir tank or ferrocement tank, tap post etc.)
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing
  • Knowledge of Basic computer skills, Auto CAD, Drawing, and quality control of construction work.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated to work in the sector of sustainable water supply, sanitation and cleanliness promotion with excellent interpersonal skills.

Plumber/Technician

Basic Education

  • Minimum 1 year of experience on field work related to drinking water supply (Construction of RVT, Tap stand posts, connection of pipes, etc).
  • Candidate should have taken different primary plumbing and building trainings in the related field.
  • Capability in analyzing problem and identifying appropriate tools and materials following health and safety standards and complies with building codes
  • Should have knowledge on installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes and fixtures in any kind of structures.
  • Should be capable of writing report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken to resolve with excellent interpersonal skills.

Social Mobiliser (SM)

10+2 or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in the field of social mobilization and community development.
  • Good communication, ability to manage conflicts, work in a team and under pressure are required.
  • Understanding of gender equality and inclusion and ability to access and analyze social dimension to adapt according to the context.
  • Candidate should bear knowledge/skill on Public Health Promotion (including ODF declaration).
  • Should bear knowledge on Report writing and basic computer skills.
  • Candidate should be capable of giving orientation to adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene management, cleanliness, etc.

Public Health Promotion Officer

Bachelor in Public Health or related subject 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related field. (Public health promotion including ODF declaration, Menstrual Hygiene Management, Water safety plan, Environment sanitation promotion and soil waste management).
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, writing and listening in English and Nepali. 
  • Skilled in computer (especially MS office packages, including email and internet).
  • Should have excellent assessment, analytical and planning skills.
  • Good understanding of the health and hygiene risks of poor rural and urban communities and of appropriate ways of tackling them. Must be aware of and sensitive to the particular needs of women’s hygiene and cleanliness in this context.
  • Sensitivity towards cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety.

Support Staff

SLC or equivalent

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a support staff in any governmental/non-governmental or any community related organizations.
  • Skill and capability on office management, security, daily cleanliness, administrative help, co-ordination and communication.
  • Candidate should be capable of Basic computer skills including use of email and internet
  • Should be trustworthy and honest.

Contract Duration: 4 months (Possibility of extension on the basis of performance)

Salary and other benefits: Salary and other benefits will be provided according to the project and organization norms.
